Privacy
Weekly Threads is built so that we can't read your check-ins. This page says what stays on your device, what we store, and who else is involved.
On your device
Your check-ins, topics, notes, scales, and safety plan are saved in this browser. You don't need an account to use the free app, and none of that data is sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes it, and you can export or delete it from the Insights page.
Summary links for your therapist
A summary link holds the summary inside the link itself, after the #. Browsers don't send that part to our server, so we don't receive or store it. Anyone you give the link to can read it, so share it only with people you trust.
Accounts and sign-in
Accounts are only needed for Personal Plus. Sign-in is run by Clerk. When you sign up with email or Google, we receive your email address, your name, and your profile picture if you have one. We don't post to or read anything else from your Google account.
Sync and reminders (Personal Plus)
If you turn on sync, your data is encrypted on your device with a key made from your sync passphrase before it's uploaded. We store the encrypted copy and the wrapped key, and can't read either. If you lose both your passphrase and your recovery key, we can't recover your data.
If you turn on reminders, we store your reminder time, days, and time zone, and the push address for each device you enable. Reminder notifications don't contain your check-in data.
Payments
Payments for Personal Plus are processed through Clerk and its payment provider. We don't see or store your card number.
Deleting your data
You can delete your synced data from the Account page. Deleting your account removes your synced data, reminder settings, and notification addresses from our servers.
Other services
- Analytics. We use Umami to count page visits. It doesn't use cookies to track you across sites, and it never sees your check-ins.
- No ads, and no selling your data.
Not a medical service
Weekly Threads is a self-tracking tool, not a crisis or treatment service, and isn't covered by health privacy laws like HIPAA. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 in the US.
